The Adriaan Windmill

De Adriaan is a windmill in the Netherlands that burnt down in 1932 and was rebuilt in 2002. The original windmill dates from 1779 and the mill has been a distinctive part of the skyline of Haarlem for centuries.

Grote Church of St Bavokerk  

This Cathedral houses one of the most important organs in the world, mentioned in Moby-Dick, and played by Mozart at the age of 10. It is an important landmark for the city of Haarlem and has dominated the city skyline for centuries. Therefore, it is a wonderful example of the religious and political changes in the city.

Grote Market

A market square that is the place to be for a drink in the sun. Come on Saturdays for some of the best food, produce, and flower markets in the North of Holland.

Frans Hals Museum

It was founded in 1862 in the newly renovated former Dominican church cloisters located in the back known as the Prinsenhof.  Today, it houses an incredible collection of works by Frans Hal’s, the Dutch master who lived in the city in the 17th Century.

Teylers Museum

An incredible art, history, and science museum in Haarlem. Established in 1778, Teylers Museum was founded as a centre for contemporary art and science. Because Pieter Teyler was a wealthy cloth merchant and banker, he bequeathed his fortune for the advancement of religion, art, and science.
